About me...
Hello to any of you who have found and are now reading my new blog... In case you are wondering what the name of my blog means it has to do with my deep love for live theatre. The idea of the holy theatre VS deadly theatre is actually a theory of directing for the theatre. In its most simple for, the deadly theatre is any theatre that is drab, or hokey, or shallow artistically... audiences often watch a bunch of these types of shows until they find a show that adheres to... "Holy Theatre". Holy theatre is the type of show or gathering that people come away with surely fulfilled. Audiences experience a show or art differently in groups, and back in ancient Greece this was used to create communal religious experiences. It is this tradition that much good theatre (as well as musical performances) often strives for most, often not even knowing that they are seeking it... something I found intriguing.
